Hi, I’m Bob. Founder and creator of By Bob Lewis. I’m so glad you’re here.

Here are a few things about me: I live in vibrant, diverse Los Angeles, nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the San Gabriel Mountains. The city boasts iconic Hollywood glamour, a rich multicultural heritage, and a history stretching back to its Spanish colonial founding in 1781.

I’m a dog dad with a passion for indoor gardening! My apartment has been my school and laboratory. I don’t have a degree in Horticulture. Still, I’ve earned my green thumb credentials by reading almost any gardening book or magazine I can access and then applying the plant care principles I learn from them in my urban oasis.

About Blogging

Blogging has been a happy accident. It is my passion and I am dedicated to helping other people create indoor gardening environments inside their apartments or tiny homes. No matter what apartment or space I am living, I make a point to create my own indoor garden, so I can cultivate my own herbs, vegetables, or even just to liven the place up with some plants.

Fun Facts About Bob

• I’m a SoCal native. I’ve lived in Los Angeles for a large portion of my adulthood, so making due with small spaces is something I excel quite well at.
• I am left-handed.
• I love being creative. I enjoy painting, cooking, making stuff, and unplugging. Like many creative people, I can be messy. It’s not always easy, but I do my best to balance my creative side with being neat.
• I’m the proud owner of a vintage record player and have a growing collection of 70’s funk albums.
• I’ve worked in the entertainment industry for about 15 years. Despite it’s ups and downs, I’ve always had a passion for the outdoors, indoors, and gardening. It’s a big reason why I decided to start this blog.
• I can recite the entirety of “The Raven” by Edgar Allan Poe from memory, a party trick I learned in high school.
